What’s Not To Love About Paris In The Fall
Guys and Gals! I can hardly wait to board that plane for Paris in about 2 weeks! Anyone that knows me knows that I get as giddy as a little school girl when it comes to travel… especially to my favorite – FRANCE! 😀 It’s getting really tough for me to focus on work and everyday chores because I have PARIS on the brain! LOL
Ahhh… the cool, crisp, autumn air in the mornings; Waking up to un cafe on the terrace of our apartment overlooking rue Cler; The locals walking their dogs before heading off to work; The sound of the water trickling into the drains as the vendors wash their storefronts and sidewalks before the hustle begins; Capturing the first glimpse of the sunrise before it bathes Lady Eiffel in all her glory; The smell of les boulangeries as they bake their magic as they’ve done for decades and even centuries.
Oh I could go on and on! And that’s just a few of my favorite things about Paris ~ and that’s only the mornings!
Paris is – hands down – the most beautiful city in the world (at least to me). I think there are many that would agree. I mean everywhere you look, it’s breathtaking! The architecture of the buildings, the stately doors, the meticulous carvings, the perfectly manicured public parks, the fashion on the streets… Again, it’s difficult for me to stop rambling about all the things I love about Paris. My heart just overflows with joy each time I’m there.
So, what will we be doing during our week in Paris? A whole lot of nothing except living like a Parisian! (Gosh that sounds so good, doesn’t it?) This trip, as I’ve mentioned before, is our first in nearly 3 years which is a very long time for my husband and me. We all know what happened in 2020, so we’ve been stifled for a bit and it feels so good to be able to travel freely again!
We both agreed that we’re just going to live it up in our beautiful Paris Perfect apartment and not fill our days with specifics and time restrictions. We do have a photoshoot scheduled with the renowned Katie Donnelly Photography and I am so looking forward to this. This will be a first for us to have professional pics done in Paris and I hear she’s one of the best in the city!
We will also be packing a couple of picnics to enjoy along the Seine and in the Champ de Mars, and who knows where else. What’s better than sharing a baguette, a bottle of vin rouge or vin blanc and some fresh fruit from the market with the love of your life – in your FAVORITE place? (Oh, yah, we can’t forget the fromage and some fleurs!) NOTHING!!! Nothing tops that in my opinion.
We are also considering a private boat excursion. I absolutely LOVE taking boat tours and we do so anytime we travel to a city that is along a river. It’s just so relaxing and provides such a different perspective of the city from the water versus the street level. The evenings are my favorite as the reflection of the city lights dance on the ripples of the water. So relaxing and peaceful!
But, I also love day cruises as the sun highlights the details of the building structures and monuments. One of my favorite pictures I took of Notre Dame (pre- the horrific fire) was taken on a Seine River cruise.
We have done several cruises along the Seine over the years and they never fail to provide beautiful memories. This trip, we’re thinking of a less touristy excursion and hiring a private boat. We’ll see what we decide and I’ll share all the info if we do go.
And, I cannot lie, we will be eating well while we’re there! Ok, maybe “well” is subjective. LOL! What I mean is that we will be enjoying all the lovely French fare that we love so much. Our favorite type of food is French, so we are looking forward to having some of our favorites and maybe splurging a little here and there.
I’m excited to take tons of pics and get refreshed blog inspo while I’m there, too. I haven’t been to Paris ~ or anywhere in France ~ since I started this blog, so having recent, fresh ideas to share with you really has me pumped. I’m so thankful to get to travel again! It makes my heart so happy.
I hope you enjoyed this little snippet of my heart and you’re inspired to do something to Frenchify your life. I’d love to hear of any upcoming trips you have planned, or how you Frenchify your life in the comments below.
Teaser Alert: We have another trip coming up after Thanksgiving that I’ll be sharing soon… and it’s not in Paris… (or even France)! Stay tuned for more deets coming your way soon.
So, for now, allons faire un tour (let’s take a tour)!
A la prochaine!
