52 Ways To Frenchify Your Life… One Week At A Time
Who doesn’t love fresh flowers? I’m pretty confident that’s a “NO ONE” (or at least I hope so)!
One great way to Frenchify your life is to always have fresh flowers in the house year-round. Flowers, to the French, is just as essential as a baguette! Flowers are especially a great pick-me-up in the winter when the days are a bit grey and the sun seems to get lost behind the clouds for days at a time. I first got my love of flowers from my Grandma, then my mom. It’s only natural that I fell in love with how much the French revere flowers as well.

Floral Shops In Paris
There is a reason why there are so many fleuristes (florists) in Paris and all over France. Flowers are an integral part of the quintessential French life, therefore you may often see people with an armful of flowers (or basketful on a bicycle) on their way home. Just as important as picking up a baguette for dinner, flowers are often included in the essentials. You can work on Frenchifying your life by doing the same.

Add Life & Happiness
Live plants and fresh flowers add life and happiness to any space, but especially small spaces. As mentioned in last week’s post, many Parisians have small apartments, so adding a little greenery and fresh blooms does wonders for the ambiance. From the smallest of apartments to the most magnificent châteaux, it is certain that fresh blooms grace the space. Les fleurs (flowers) add to the joie de vivre (joy of living).

Bring Nature Inside
Bringing nature into your space is easily accomplished by adding a lovely bouquet. There is just something so charming and comforting about admiring the delicate petals and tenderness these lovely flowers add. Live plants, whether they actually bloom or not, add so much life and also help purify the air. Another great way to Frenchify your life is by integrating natural elements regularly.

Enjoy The Fragrance
One of my favorite things about having fresh flowers throughout our home is not just their aesthetics, but their SMELL! Oh how I love a fragrant bouquet of roses, lilacs, freesia, paperwhites, tuberoses or peonies to name just a few. For plants – a gardenia plant is about as lovely as it gets to fill a room with fragrant magic. It’s my husband’s favorite flower for smell and I cannot disagree.

Flowers While Traveling
EVERY time I travel, I get a fresh bouquet once we check in to our hotel or apartment. It’s just one of the things I love to do no matter where in the world we are. Sometimes it can be a little tricky to find a “vase,” but that’s part of the adventure – finding what I can use. I’ve been known to use a plastic water bottle, a glass from the cupboard, a wine bottle, or some other type of makeshift vase. It’s fun to be creative even if it isn’t the prettiest. The flowers will make up for it. LOL One more way to Frenchify your life while traveling is by bringing nature indoors.

Adding flowers to your space adds so much goodness in all ways. It’s like having your own sunshine within your home. I’d love to know which flowers and plants are your faves to brighten your area. Let me know in the Comments below.
